Alex Wingate

Alex is an Information Science PhD student at Indiana University Bloomington. Her intended dissertation research will examine booksellers in seventeenth-century Navarre, Spain while drawing from the methods of both book history and information science. Besides booksellers in Navarre, she is also interested in private libraries in early modern Navarre, the book history of early modern Spain, mixed methods approaches to book history, the intersection between information science and book history, and the preservation and interoperability of book historical data.


She holds an MLS from Indiana University Bloomington, an MA in the History of the Book from the University of London, and a BA in Linguistics and Hispanic Studies from the College of William and Mary. She is currently the Bibliography Editor for the Chymistry of Isaac Newton project and the Bibliographer for the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP).
